The Clorox Co., parent company of CloroxPro, has been named a recipient of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2023 Green Chemistry Challenge Award.
The agency’s annual awards program honors companies or institutions that have developed a new green chemistry process or product that helps protect human health and the environment. Clorox was recognized by the EPA in the Designing Greener Chemicals category for its development and launch of Clorox EcoClean Disinfecting Cleaner. Clorox’s cleaning solution uses a plant-based active ingredient that kills 99.9% of illness-causing germs in two minutes or less.
“We all share a responsibility to help prevent pollution by advancing green innovation and the design of eco-friendly chemicals and materials,” said Michelle Claudnic, CloroxPro senior director of research and development. “We are honored to be awarded the EPA Green Chemistry Challenge Award as we continue delivering on our commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. Clorox Professional is proud to offer a new choice for cleaning professionals seeking eco-conscious cleaners and disinfectants to keep facilities clean and healthy.”
